Description

Progress Update

The Home Energy Loan Program (HELP) launched in September 2021 with capacity for 67 participants. In 2022, HELP received loan funding from the Federation of Canadian Municipalities and was able to increase the capacity to allow 246 participants (assuming a $40,00 loan for each participant). Currently, there are 488 total applications, 82 projects fully complete, and 41 projects in progress. Of the completed projects approximately 10% are deep retrofits, reducing their energy usage by 50%. Along with the loan funding, additional program funding was received in 2022, and several program enhancements were implemented including rebates for participants, a Solar Potential Map, Energy Coaching Services, Real Estate Agent Training, and an upcoming Home Energy Map.
